Labrador Tea
Ledum groenlandicum
Identification of this plant is important because there are several poisonous lookalikes.
Look for white flowers and slender leathery leaves curled under with rusty
brown fuzz underneath. Labrador tea grows in high acid soils, mostly in peatlands and bog forests.
Pacific Northwest tribes used the leaves for colds, sore throats and other
ailments. European settlers drank tea made from the leaves.
