Hylebos Creek Conservation Initiative and the Economy

Environmental conservation is an important component of a strong economy. The presence of protected green space and green belts increases the property values of neighboring homes and local property tax revenues for local programs and schools. Green space and parks are also an important community element that help draw new businesses and residents to a community.

The Hylebos Creek Conservation Initiative focuses on preserving the most biologically important areas of Hylebos Creek, where development is least viable. In this way, our conservation goals can be achieved while still allowing for development in surrounding areas.
