Get Involved

You can help make the Hylebos Watershed a healthier, greener place for people and for native wildlife. Hylebos conservation depends on you!

Volunteer

The Friends has an active Stream Team program that provides volunteers with opportunities to participate in habitat restoration, do water quality testing and track returning salmon populations. Learn more about the Stream Team here, or contact Restoration Coordinator Hillary Kleeb.

Donate

As a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, the Friends depends on the generous financial support of its members and supporters. We simply can't conserve Hylebos Creek without your support. Lean more about donating to the Friends.

Ruby Dance

Our annual awards dinner and benefit for Hylebos Conservation is held at the end of September when salmon return to Hylebos Creek. The name comes from the flash of red displayed by male coho salmon as they make their way upstream to spawn.

Approaching our fifth year, Ruby Dance 2009 will celebrate urban forests and support efforts to sustain the trees and forests of our community. Ruby Dance 2009 featured a special celebration of the Friends' 25th Anniversary and raised more than $30,000 for local conservation.

Hylebos Days

The City of Federal Way has established the second weekend of May Hylebos Days. Each year, we celebrate the beauty and wonder of the West Hylebos Wetlands and the Hylebos Watershed with park tours and fun activities like scavenger hunts. See Hylebos Days 2009!
